Bootle High School is a uniform school and pupils are expected to maintain high standards of uniform dress. Any request for a uniform variation must be accompanied by a note and will only be permitted in exceptional circumstances and for a limited and stated period of time.

NB. The Black Blazer is a COMPULSORY ITEM OF UNIFORM for all pupils, boys and girls, in Years 7, 8 and 9.  In Years 10 and 11 the blazer is optional.  If a blazer is not worn in years 10 and 11 pupils must wear a school jumper.

For winter wear - when the blazer alone may not be warm enough - coats or anoraks may be worn as outdoor clothing. Suede, denim or leather coats or Berghaus or other expensive jackets are not allowed. The school cannot accept responsibility for loss or theft of such items.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT PUPILS' NAMES ARE INCLUDED ON EVERY ITEM OF EQUIPMENT AND UNIFORM CLOTHING.

JEWELLERY

It is better for safety and security reasons if no jewellery is worn. However, with parents' permission, pupils may wear one signet ring, a watch and one pair of ear studs, (Please note - no other pierced studs or rings may be worn under any circumstances). Ear studs, watches and rings must be removed for certain lessons such as Physical Education for health and safety reasons.

Neither the school nor the Local Authority can accept responsibility for the loss of personal property brought to school. There is no insurance cover.
